Hundreds of Jewish settlers stormed the Nabi Yusuf tomb in Nablus city on Wednesday night under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF), local sources said.
The witnesses noted that a convoy of buses loaded with settlers arrived at the tomb in the biggest such storming for many years.
They noted that the visit was made in coordination with the militias of Mahmoud Abbas, the PA chief whose term in office expired more than a year ago.
The settlers remained in the site until the dawn hours of Thursday when they retreated with the IOF troops.
Visits by the settlers to the tomb were halted after the eruption of the Aqsa intifida in 2000 but returned gradually over the past years but this one is considered the biggest since then.
