The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have detained more than 3,000 Palestinian children since the eruption of the Aqsa intifada in September 2000, the Husam society catering for prisoners said.

It said in a report late Tuesday that many of those children were attacked by knives and razors other than being deprived of sleep for long hours and denied change of clothes.

The report said that the torture of those children, 320 of whom are still held in Israeli jails, included other means such pouring very cold water on them then hot water, covering their heads with bags, and firing small plastic bullets at them.

Those children are held in cruel and inhuman incarceration conditions that lack the simplest international standards and prisoners' rights, the report pointed out.

It noted that the Israeli occupation courts issued heavy fines and harsh verdicts against many of them such as one who was sentenced to 12 years while three others were sentenced to 14 years behind bars.

The report underlined that 60 of the imprisoned children suffer various diseases and are deprived of proper medical treatment.
