Secretary General for the Muslim Brotherhood, Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, emphasized that the group has achieved many of its goals, as they feel the responsibility to protect people and make them stand positively against tyrannical and corrupt rulers, and to achieve the desired goal of exposing the government's irregularities.
In a phone call with the BBC on Wednesday, Hussein stressed that "if the Brotherhood did not participate in the elections, the whole world would not have been able to witness the abuses that were committed against voters by the Egyptian government".
Hussein stressed that the first round of fraudulent parliamentary election results have been seen by any observer who saw the Brotherhood's huge rallies during the campaign period, indicating that the whole world has witnessed the violence and violations that took place at the hands of the regime.
Hussein also noted that the Brothers do not make deals with the current regime but they always want to hold free and fair elections.
The Brotherhood has decided to boycott the run-off and will continue in their struggle to regain people's usurped rights.
