Mohamed Tosson, Muslim Brotherhood (MB) head lawyer, the Secretary General of the Bar Association, and the lawyer representing Martyrs and Victims of the Revolution, affirmed that all the evidence confirms beyond any doubt that the accused Hosni Mubarak did act jointly with former Interior Minister Habib El-Adli in the killing of peaceful demonstrators, and that these crimes were coupled with other offenses.
In a statement to IkhwanWeb, Tosson pointed that a crime was indeed committed, to which the text of Article 234 of the Penal Code applies, under which the death penalty is appropriate in this case.
He pointed out that despite the difficulties faced by the Egyptian public prosecutor, there is evidence to condemn Mubarak and his aides and require the most severe punishment for them.
In today (Monday)’s session of the former president’s trial, Tosson pleaded before Councillor Ahmed Refaat – Cairo Criminal Court President – calling for justice to be enforced against the deposed president and his aides in the case of rebel murders.
Tosson paid tribute to the lives of the January 25 martyrs, saying: "Peace be on their blessed souls as they willingly risked their lives in the face of tyranny and corruption; peace be on their souls as they received the bullets of treachery in their hearts; peace be on their souls as they fell, martyrs of the revolution; and peace be on their blessed souls as they rise again in the Hereafter."
