Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Deputy Chairman Khairat Al-Shater, met with Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Norwegian Ambassador to Egypt Tor Wennesland at the Brotherhood’s headquarters, on Wednesday morning, along with an accompanying delegation. Dr. Essam Al-Haddad, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Foreign Relations Committee Officer, also attended the meeting.

The Norwegian FM hailed the success of the Egyptian revolution, acknowledging sacrifices made for the country by the Brotherhood throughout history. He also expressed his admiration of the current efforts made by the MB to revive the country and achieve comprehensive development and real renaissance.

For his part, Al-Shater thanked Store for his visit, and expressed appreciation for Norway's government, which was quick to contact the MB, following the revolution, and has offered several initiatives to bolster bi-lateral relations between Egypt and Norway.

Moreover, Al-Shater asserted that Egypt is facing two major challenges. Firstly: the establishment of a political system based on democracy, the formation of state institutions and upholding the law. Secondly: true economic development, which will come about through domestic cooperation and solidarity, as well as foreign support and assistance.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Al-Shater stressed the importance of boosting mutual cooperation with Norway through exchanging political, economic and legal experiences.
