Dr Talaat Fahmi, Muslim Brotherhood media spokesman, said the group was a defender of the homeland, never a terrorist group.
"Hassan Al-Hudaibi, the group's former Chairman, was the President of the Court of Cassation. Also, Mamoun Al-Hudaibi was the President of the Court of Appeal. Most members of the group's Guidance Bureau are university professors. Dr Mohamed Badie, the group's Chairman, is one of the top 100 Arab scientists".
Dr Fahmi added, in a phone call to Mekammileen satellite TV channel Thursday that members of the group have an honorable history in their defense of Egypt and against the English occupier, rejecting the militarization of the revolution, preserving the homeland and putting that high above the group's own interests.
Dr Fahmi pointed that President Morsi came to power through free and fair elections, in which 25 million citizens voted. President Morsi won the elections with 13 million votes, or 51% of total votes, which is the prevailing rate in all countries of the developed world.
Earlier, during his trial Friday, in the "Beni Suef clashes" case, Muslim Brotherhood Chairman, Dr Mohamed Badie, denounced designating the group as a terrorist organization, pointing that he took over leadership, in some periods, from judges and jurists.
