Orthodox rabbi: Israel should not exist

A prominent Jewish rabbi has opined that Israel was nothing but a myth that deceived many people in this world into supporting it, and that in fact it should not have come to being in the first place.
In an interview with the American Fox News TV channel aired on August 22, 2006, Jewish rabbi Yisroel Weiss of the Jews United against Zionism used the Torah (a book explaining the Jewish Holy Book) to undermine Zionist claims of an independent state of Israel.
Israel has marred life of all the people in this world Jews and non-Jews alike. This is an agreed-upon point of view a century ago when the Zionist Movement started the idea of transforming Judaism from a spiritual religion into something material to obtain a piece of land and to establish a state in contrary to the Ordain of God on the Jews as an exiled people, he said.
He added, "Jews in this world should have no state as they should, according to the teaching of Judaism, live among the nations as their ancestors did over the past two millenniums as faithful citizens".
In that interview, the rabbi further emphasized that Jews were living in peace and tranquility among Muslims without any harm inflicted on them, underlining that the chief rabbi in Palestine had appealed to the United Nations not to allow the birth of a Jewish state.
Commenting on Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad’s remarks of killing Jews in Israel, Weiss replied "Nejad’s remarks were clear. The man wants to dismantle the political state of Israel in the region".
When asked by the host whether or not he believes that as long as Israel exists, then no good will come out of it, Weiss retorted "Jews are suffering, Palestinians are suffering too; and therefore, we pray to expedite the disbanding of this Jewish state peacefully".
