A Muslim Brotherhood parliamentarian asked why about 800 Al-Azhar graduates were excluded from the job of imam and preacher due to security tips.
Alamuldeen Al Sakhawi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood"s parliamentary bloc, lodged an urgent written question over excluding 800 Al-Azhar graduates who applied for the job of imam and preacher due to security tips, although they succeeded in the competition and the criminal records of the applicants contain nothing to cause this exclusion.
"Is it true that the Interior Ministry is the one that has the upper hand over the appointment process?!" asked the MP, adding "If it is so, why don"t we merge the Ministry of Endowments into the Interior Ministry, specially that the arbitrary transfers are carried out according to security tips, in addition to what happens in Al-Azhar where the security controls every thing, even secondments abroad !!
"Who has the right to academically evaluate the imams and preachers?: the security, secret tips, or competent scholars, justice and criminal records?!" asked the MP.
Al Sakhawi said to Ikhwanweb that the security interventions in all appointments became very troublesome and confirm that the security is controlling everything in state-run institutions; the security reports have become a reference and basis in appointment in any public job.
Al Sakhawi confirmed that these rejected exercises confirm that Egypt has become a security-controlled country, not a state of institutions .
