Pro-Democracy National Alliance Praises Poor’s Revolution Protests

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance issued the following statement:

The Revolution’s momentum is gathering fast, the raging revolt is expanding socially and geographically, and Egyptian youths are moving forward with vigor and determination in anti-coup defiance. The disillusioned poor are joining the raging revolt after discovering the military junta’s ruthless treachery, and the people are responding in a promising positive manner to calls for a partial strike.

Meanwhile, coup militias know only terror, violence and bloodshed. The putschists have a one-track exclusionary mind, they fiercely loathe any form of expression of opinion or popular displeasure, whether in angry rallies in streets and public squares, in positive activities paving the ground for civil disobedience, or in the return of the heroes of the student movement to universities.

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance continues to defend the rights of the Egyptian people, without distinction. The Alliance appreciates the ever-expanding escalating revolutionary movement led by young revolutionaries. The confused military junta does not differentiate between one banner and another: no-one but coup-supporters has any rights whatsoever. But ours is one Revolution that will wrest rights and freedoms for all.

The mad military junta is pouring gasoline on the fire by committing yet more crimes of torture in detention, enforced disappearances, mass murder rulings and indiscriminate jail sentences issued by military-controlled judges every day against youths and symbols and leaders of the January 25 (2011) Revolution, the latest of which are Sunday’s politicized and unjust verdicts and sentences in the Istiqama Mosque case.

Military junta violence has drastically impacted all Egyptians, and threatens the livelihoods of all citizens, as well as their lives, their rights and freedoms. In doing so, the coup leaders prove that fear has filled their hearts and minds to overflowing. In any event, the Revolution is gaining more supporters every day. And every day it moves forth from strength to strength. The junta’s scorched earth policy will not succeed, nor will the targeting of Arab Spring revolutions with live bullets, terror or shameful Apaches.

Let’s all go out and protest on September 9

The Revolution continues… until Cairo is purged and Egyptians rejoice.

Freedom for Egypt… Glory for the martyrs
