Pro-Democracy National Alliance Statement: Istiqlal Party Freeze Ruling Null and Void
The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance denounces the arrest of journalist Magdi Hussein, Istiqlal (Independence) Party Chairman; Dr. Magdy Qorqor, the party’s General-Secretary and the National Alliance’s spokesman; and a number of party leaders and senior members – in the military junta’s relentless and vengeful campaign against the January 25 Revolution.
The Alliance further deplores the unjust and unlawful ruling issued by a court, out of jurisdiction, to freeze the activities of the steadfast and revolutionary Istiqlal Party, one of the Alliance’s components, in the fascist generals’ desperate attempt to abolish political life, justice and the judiciary in Egypt altogether.
This court ruling is null and void according to the law and by the dictate of the Revolution. It is an extension of the failure of the coup and military junta’s media, judiciary and police tentacles in the face of revolutionaries and patriotic parties that defend the honor of the homeland and the citizen’s rights, especially the Istiqlal Party, which was established to call for the independence of the Egyptian decision in an atmosphere of subservience and proxy war.
The fascist general insists on deliberately extinguishing political life and killing all freedoms, after he killed thousands of peaceful Egyptians, including young people and the powerful and proud student movement youths. The treasonous general wants to hear nothing but the voice of military chiefs in Egypt.
Junta authorities that issued decisions of terror and injustice in his name and in the name of his bloody coup everywhere across Egypt are only pouring gasoline on the fire. They will cause the eruption of revolutionary rage sooner than anyone thinks.
The Alliance will move forward, with all its components and supporters, with vigor and determination, on the path of the Revolution and resistance, until victory, until it exacts fair retribution from all the murderers and their associates who are now issuing the decisions of blood and injustice.
The Alliance will continue to lead the unstoppable Revolution, steadfast in the peaceful struggle for principles and rights, whatever the oppression and the aggression. The Alliance will not allow anyone to crush what is left of Egypt under the military junta’s boots.
Once again, the National Alliance repeats its revolutionary challenge… if they want the proof, if they wish to know the real rage rising in the Egyptian street: let them open up public squares, if they dare.
