Prosecution Witness Denys Accusations Against MB Professor in Alleged Hamas Plot

Tuesday’s investigations with Abdul Hai El Faramawi, Muslim Brotherhood professor who faces a charge of supporting Hamas, were marked by a surprise that would undermine the entire case and dismiss the charges against him, Muslim Brotherhood lawyers told Ikhwanweb.

One of the two witnesses brought from Al Arish city against Faramawi claimed at the Higher State Security Prosecution that the MB professor had given them LE 40 to purchase fuel for planes and remote controls to be used by Hamas in military operations inside and outside the country.

The other witness, however, changed his sayings in today’s session, denying any relation whatsoever to Faramawi. He also denied having received any sort of funding from him.

“This should turn the whole case upside down,” said Nasser Al Hafi, Faramawi’s lawyer and board member of the Bar Association.

For his part, Faramawi has denied knowing the witnesses who were brought by the prosecution. This gave the defense a chance to reopen the investigations and ask for a confrontation between the witness and Faramawi.

Further, Al Hafi requested the prosecution to release Faramawi who suffers diabetes and lever conditions; but the prosecution refused and extended his detention for further 15 days pending investigation.
