Reform and Development Party Calls for dialogue with the Muslim Brotherhood

The Reform and Development Party (under establishment) called for direct dialogue between the MB leaders, who are patriotic Egyptian citizens endeavouring to represent the street, and the Egyptian presidency. The call promotes the concept of no interference by the Ministry of Interior or the State Security Services.

 

Mohamed Anwar Esmat Al-Sadat, Head of the party’s trustees, stressed in a statement to Ikhwanweb, that the wide arrest campaigns which included Dr. Abdul Monem Abul Fotouh member of the MB Guidance Bureau and Secretary-General of the Arab Doctor”s Federation and a large number of MB leaders, has deepened and increased the state of despair and frustration in the Egyptian society as a whole. This discomfort was evident among both those who are for and those who are against the principles of the MB.

 

Al-Sadat described the need for national and political dialogue as urgent, especially under the national and international circumstances which Egypt is facing. He asserted that dialogue would certainly avoid the civil unrest due to the arrests and unconstitutional military tribunals, especially as the Muslim Brotherhood group has a political program that is consistent with the civil state and respects the law and the Constitution. Al-Sadat affirmed that these attributes could be used as a cornerstone for successful political dialogue.
