Renewal of detention of Abdel-Ghaffar and leading MB member in Alexandria

The Supreme State Security for the 9th consecutive time, renewed the detention for a further 15 days of Dr. Ashraf Abdel Ghaffar, vice Secretary -General of the Medical Association and Rapporteur of the Human Relief Agency. Ghaffar had been merged to Dr. Abul Fotouh and his companions in the renowned case no. 404 of 2009 Supreme State Security.

 

 

Dr Ashraf was arrested at down, July 3 from the Cairo Airport where he was traveling to Turkey to attend his son’s wedding. He was later transferred to Al-Marg Prison.

 


The Court also decided to renew the detention of Mohammed Abu Al-Nas a leading Brotherhood leader from Alexandria a further 15 days pending investigation after being held along with 5 other Muslim Brotherhood’s high-ranking figures from the Egyptian governorates. The Interior Ministry issued on October 12 a decision to arrest the other four despite Zagazig Criminal Court’s acquittal.

 

 

The detainees include:

 

Dr. Mohammed Al-Khodari (Dentist)

Ayman Abdel-Hamid (Free Business) from Cairo

Eid Dahroug from Sharkia.

 

The Security services, in another campaign, detained 5 of the Muslim Brotherhood’s high-ranking figures from the Egyptian governorates of Cairo, Port Said, Sharkia and Alexandria while they were visiting Dr Massad Fathi Al-Zini Chairman of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists in Dakahlia on August 29.
