Reports indicate 50 million mobile users in Egypt alone

A government report issued Wednesday September 23 indicated that surveys conduct in Egypt revealed an increase in the number of mobile users by 20% compared to year 2008.

The survey carried out by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology indicated that this year 50 million people used mobiles this year in Egypt compared to 36.5 million users last year 2008.

On the same note the survey reported an increase also in the number of Internet users this year to 13.7 million as opposed to 11.5 million in 2008.
