Revolution Coalition Calls for Feast Prayers in Tahrir
The Revolution Masses Coordinating Committee called for a massive Eid Al-Fitr prayer in Tahrir Square to retain the spirit of unity and cohesion among all Egyptians. It called on all factions and civil society organizations to join in decorating the Square in preparation for the Eid Prayers celebrating the end of Ramadan.
The Committee has been in charge of organizing million-man protests and rallies over the past months following the revolution, and includes the Muslim Brotherhood, the Revolution’s Board of Trustees, Free Copts, intellectuals, academics, independents and a number of other political factions who set aside ideological differences and joined forces for the joint goal of ending the regime of Hosni Mubarak and rebuilding a free democratic Egypt.
The committee has also called on businessmen and affluent citizens who believed in the revolution to participate and present small gifts to the children during the Eid in a bid to bring happiness to one and all.
“It is expected that all political, national and civil forces and trends will participate in the preparations and disregard differences, turning Tahrir Square into a festive and enjoyable place to celebrate the day,” a source from the committee said, adding that a complete military band will also be present to join in the celebrations.
