Saif Al-Islam Al Banna: MB Always Shares Copts Feast Joy

Ahmed Saif Al-Islam Hassan Al Banna, A Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leader and Secretary-General of the Bar Association, confirmed that the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) always congratulates the Copts in all their feasts, topped by pope Shenouda II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark.
Saif Al-Islam, son of the MB founder and who is seen among Coptic arenas as the MB representative in wishing Copts happy feast, said:” I participated on Sunday the Copts feast, being the Secretary-General of the Bar Association, but I arrived late due to my ill health and traffic jam after the pope finished his prayer, and wished the church leaders happy feast .
Saif Al-Islam added:” I have got used to attending the Copts feasts since the alliance between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Labour Party was formed in the 1980s and I was its representative, and since then I did not miss any feast; the pope thanked me many times while he was thanking representatives of all party and political powers; he pointed out that a church leader informed him that the pope asked about him before his late arrival.
Saif Al-Islam confirmed that the Muslim Brotherhood has been throughout its history considering the Copts their homeland partners, because the group has never showed any enmity to the Copts throughout its history.
“The problem was and is still lies in the Islamic extremists affiliated to the Islamic groups, that attacked the Copts, and also the Christian extremists who stir foreign countries against Egypt and work for creating a sectarian strife.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Mursi, a member of MB Executive Bureau, told Ikhwanweb that the group always invites pope Shenouda and church leaders to all its events, like the annual Iftar party, held by the group; the group also sends messages wishing the pope Shenouda and the church happy feast in every event.
Mursi added that the MB”s attitude towards the Copts is clear; the group considers the Copts as Egyptian citizens who enjoy all rights of citizenship and are equal in rights and duties.
