Salah: Any folly made by Netanyahu will burn everyone especially himself
Sheikh Ra’ed Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, warned Sunday that any folly committed by Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu against the Aqsa Mosque would ignite a fire that burns everything and everybody, topped by him.
Sheikh Salah called on the Palestinians to be present permanently and early in the Mosque to protect it from any Israeli attack.
“O our people in Jerusalem and at home…We are demanded now to be on the alert and be present at the Aqsa Mosque in order to defend it and stand in the face of the occupation and the gangs of settlers,” he said addressing the Palestinians in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands.
In the same context, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahhar, a member of Hamas political bureau, hailed Sunday the Palestinians of Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands for confronting courageously with their bare hands and chests the Israeli attempts to storm the Aqsa Mosque.
“These are sad moments in the history of the Arab and Muslims nations when their first Qiblah (prayer direction) and their third holiest place is desecrated in this way, while the Palestinian street remains steadfast [defending the Aqsa Mosque with their bare hands and chests], Dr. Zahhar highlighted in a statement on Al-Quds satellite channel.
For its part, the Hamas change and reform parliamentary bloc, held today Israeli leaders fully responsible for any consequences resulting from any escalation in Jerusalem, warning that the attacks on the Aqsa Mosque would certainly trigger the situation in the whole region.
For his part, Hamas spokesman in Khan Younis Hammad Al-Ruqub called on all Palestinians to support and rally around the resistance as an appropriate response to the Israeli crimes in Jerusalem.
“We hold the occupation and its leaders responsible for what is happening in the Aqsa Mosque. The occupation, along with its official institutions, is attacking now our people in Jerusalem in an attempt to achieve what the Zionist extremists yearn for, the destruction of the Mosque and the building of the alleged temple in its place,” spokesman Ruqub underscored.
A large number of Israeli policemen and troops were deployed yesterday and Sunday in the occupied city of Jerusalem who closed all entrances to the Aqsa Mosque and encircled Palestinian worshipers inside it.
They also assaulted today dozens of Palestinian citizens who tried to reach the Mosque at the gates of Al-Asbat and Faisal which resulted in the injury of 15 of them and the arrest of 10 others.
The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) also closed Al-Abrahimi Mosque and tightened its military measures in its vicinity at the pretext of celebrating Jewish holidays.
The office of religious affairs in Al-Khalil deplored the IOA for closing the Mosque and preventing Palestinian Muslims from performing their daily prayers inside it, saying that such a measure violates all international norms and heavenly religions.
