Security defies court release orders amid MB leaders’ health risks
MB leaders Dr. Gamal Heshmat and Eng. Ossama Suleiman were brought into Damanhour’s State security headquarters in what was described as very weak and ill. Both detainees have continued their hunger strike making it their 7th consecutive day since their detention last Monday May 3rd. They were carried into the building due to severe illness resulting from the strike
Heshmat and Suleiman’s families have rallied at the City’s square in protest to their continued and unjust detention despite two earlier release orders from the Appeal’s Court. Family members have accused the regime of human violations and have expressed their anger stressing that they hold state security full responsible for their ill health and endangered lives. They confirmed that they will continue rallying at the city square until their family members’ release. Medical sources have asserted that it is imperative that the detainees be taken to hospital for the necessary care highlighting that their continued detention and hunger strike will be an extreme threat to the innocent men’s lives
