Security Forces Assault Mit Ghamr Candidate’s Election Rally

Security Forces Assault Mit Ghamr Candidate”s Election Rally, Detain Dozens
 
The security forces in Mit Ghamr, Dakahlia, assaulted and beat supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate for Mit Ghamr, Dr. Khaled Al Dib, and detained dozens .
 
Dr. Khaled Al Dib attended a large Mit Ghamr gathering in which more than two thousands supporters. The supporters marched in the streets of the city but the security forces attacked the march and dispersed the supporters and detained others while others were injured.
 
 The march started in the evening and was led by Dr. Khaled Al Dib and Dr. Hatem Al Shennawi, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate in 2005 legislative elections.
 
The security forces used some bullies to attack the peaceful march, leading to many injured among the MB candidate”s supporters. Dr. Khaled asked his supporters to leave the march and the whole scene peacefully and they obeyed his demand. However, the security forces didn”t stop short of beating the MB supporters. They hunted them down in the streets and arrested dozens of them. 15 have been reportedly detained and the number of detentions is on the rise. A officer quarreled with a resident after the officer said bad names against the march.
 
In a related context, dozens of police trucks laden with Central Security Forces have been chasing dozens of Muslim Brotherhood supporters on the Mit Ghamr- Sahrajt Al-Kubra road and on the Nile bridge, but none was arrested.
 
The police established checkpoints in various places in the highway to ambush any Muslim Brotherhood supporter. They have been searching all taxis, and raided houses of some of Muslim Brotherhood members in a number of Mit Ghamr villages.
 
The security manager in Dakahlia ordered forces deployed in all villages of the district of Mit Ghamr.
