Security forces surround MB candidate’s home in Sharqiya

Security forces surround MB candidate’s home in Sharqiya

Ministry of Interior continues to violate even basic constitutional rights of MB candidates running for the Shura Council elections this fall. Security forces in Sharqiya prevented a campaign rally for MB candidate Mr. Eid Dahroug and confiscated banners, posters and other campaigning material

According to one officer working for the Interior Ministry, orders were given to prevent the MB candidate, Mr. Dahroug, from continuing his rallies and campaign stops. When Mr.  Dahroug objected and insisted on moving ahead with his campaign rounds; he was threatened with calling more security reinforcements, which prompted Mr. Dahroug to end the stand-off fearing for the safety of his supporters and avoiding clashes with the security forces

On his way back home, the MB candidate was stunned to find his house surrounded by forces, which forced him to spend the night outside his home in order to be able to continue campainging
