Sheikh Salah announces participation in flotilla heading to Gaza
BERLIN, Sheikh Ra’ed Salah, the head of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, announced in Berlin on Saturday that he would be among the passengers aboard the flotilla of ships carrying relief material to the Gaza Strip later this month.
The Sheikh, who was met with a standing ovation at the Berlin conference for Palestinians in Europe, said that the flotilla would symbolically signal the beginning of the return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland.
He told participants at the eighth conference for the Palestinians in Europe that he would be waiting for their return to their cities and villages in Palestine.
Salah said that the time would come when the return conference would be held in the Palestinian lands.
For his part, Khalil Al-Haya, a political bureau member of Hamas movement, told a rally on the right of return (RoR) in Gaza on Saturday that the right of return would never be relinquished.
He said that the real threat to RoR was negotiating it with the Israeli occupation authority, describing RoR as a red line.
Haya said that the Hamas-led government in Gaza Strip would never accept negotiating any Palestinian right.
