Spanish activists sue Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders
MADRID, Three activists from Spain, who were on board the Freedom Flotilla, filed a lawsuit in Madrid against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders over the May 31 Freedom Flotilla massacre, which left dozens dead and wounded.
The three claimants, two of whom are members of a solidarity foundation for Arab rights, and the other a known journalist in Spain, were on board the Turkish Marmara ship, which, along with the seven other Freedom Flotilla ships, was bound for Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid.
The suit had been filed against members of the Israeli cabinet, which includes seven members headed by Netanyahu, the Spanish El-Pais newspaper said, noting that the three activists are convinced that Israeli leaders are fully responsible for the deaths of the Turkish citizens on board the Marmara ship, adding that there is no shadow of a doubt that the attacks were planned by Israeli leaders.
