Sudanese Officials Vow to Expand Trade With Egypt During Meeting With FJP

During a meeting held in Aswan between Sudanese officials and representatives from the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), Sudan’s Minister of Trade Othman Al-Shereef praised the strong ties and relationship between Egypt and Sudan they enjoyed throughout history. 



He added: "Sudan will not tolerate any efforts to affect this valued relationship. We share common interests most significant being the exchange of trade".

The minister stressed it was imperative that all obstacles and constraints effecting the movement of trade between the two countries be eliminated. He added: "Trade between Egypt and Sudan, should be extensive and diverse and not limited to particular commodities".
 
For his part, Sudanese ambassador who also attended the meeting stated that his country is keen to expand and strengthen trade and economic relations with Egypt. He stated:  "One of Sudan’s priorities in the next phase is to bring closer both countries’ views regarding all issues including those concerning political and economic views on both the international and regional levels".
