Swine Flu Map in Egypt

Cases till now: 12 Americans, 2 Columbians and 5 Egyptians
Al-Zamalik, Maadi and Alexandria host infected cases
Children and youth are most vulnerable so far
Egyptian Health Ministry reported on Sunday the 19th A/H1N1 case in a 4 year old child of a US nationality living with his family in Cairo . Symptoms of the disease first surfaced on June, 12th.
Ikhwanweb has detected some common features of the infected cases in Egypt: First: All infected cases are either foreigners or Egyptians living abroad (mostly with dual nationalities). Most cases were quarantined in Cairo International Airport. Out of the 19 infected cases only five are Egyptians. The rest- 14 cases- are foreigners with the Americans leading the toll with 12 cases followed by 2 Columbian cases.
The main place of infected cases is in Cairo in the dormitory of the American University in Cairo AUC based in Al-Zamalik where 7 cases were reported.
The second place that hosted infections is Maadi which reported two cases of an Egyptian engineer working in an oil company and his Colombian wife.
Outside Cairo, only two cases were reported in the coastal city of Alexandria.
As for the age groups the infection focused on the 20-30 age groups where the 7 cases reported were from the American University dormitories. The 2nd most vulnerable age group are children under 10 were 2 children an Egyptian and an American. A further child an Egyptian-Canadian was quarantined at Cairo International Airport.
The second common feature among the infected cases is that they belong to the high class. Most of them are either foreigners who arrived in Egypt for study or Egyptians living abroad. This actually accounts for the very excellent medical care that they have received although some attributed this excellent medical care to the fact that only a few number of people are infected.
The fact that the cases are restricted to high class made Dr. Hamdy Al-Sayyed, chairman of the health committee in the People”s Assembly, and submits a suggestion asking the Health Ministry rent hotels for suspected or confirmed cases which may be reluctant to go to hospital.
“We don”t mind allocating high class places for high class people”, was the reply of the Health Minister to the above mentioned suggestion.
