Tanta’s MB Candidate Released, More Detentions in Al Fayyum


Tanta prosecution released on Tuesday Al Desouki Kolaib, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate for the constituency of the city and district of Tanta, after arresting him on Monday while campaigning in a street in the city of Tanta along with eng. Adel Al Anani and Magdi Heikal on charges of:



1- Leading a march of an outlawed group and chanting religious slogans


2- Hanging posters on state-ruin schools


The prosecution ordered engineer Adel Al Anani and Magdi Heikal 15 days under investigation .



Meanwhile, candidates of the ruling National Party in the Shura Council midterm elections cover all government corporations, traffic signs and others with their posters and other means of campaign, and the security services give a blind eye to their actions.



Also, three Muslim Brotherhood members were detained in Kafr Al-Zayat while they were hanging a poster for MB candidate engineer: Khaled Shalash. The detainees are: Esmat Al-Dimyati

Said Shammakh


They are held in Kafr Al-Zayat directorate pending appearing in front of the prosecution.



In Al Fayyum



The State Security Police launched on Tuesday a huge sweep of arrests in the constituency of Bandar Al Fayyum and district of Etsa, arresting a number of supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate:

The security forces arrested also a number of supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate in Bandar Al Fayyum. Other houses were reaided but their owners weren’t inside during the raids:

The state security forces detained Mohamed Mohamed Yemeni from the village of Tatoun and Saad Saadawi from Al-Qassimiya, Etsa



The State Security Police raided also the election building of hajji Othman Diab, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate for the constituency of Bandar Al Fayyum, and district of Etsa and disheveled its contents, and arrested his personal secretary and his brother-in-law Ashraf Sayed .



Wives of the detainees presented complaints to the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights. Iman Ismail Abdul Hamid wife of the detainee Khaled Al Hariri who was kidnapped for the main road said in her complaint that her husband was heading for work on Monday morning when he was stunned a State Security Police force assaulting and kidnapping him. The force held him in the police station and fabricated a case of possessing leaflets containing the religious slogan “Islam Is the Solution” for the Muslim Brotherhood candidate Othman Ahmed Diab.
