The Muslim Brotherhood Press Conference on Bird Flu Crisis
The Muslim Brotherhood Conference on Bird Flu is Moved to the Headquarters of the MB Executive Bureau
Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat, professor of microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig’s University, and Secretary-General of the Muslim Brotherhood, confirmed that the Brotherhood had decided to change the venue of the press conference on the bird flu crisis. Instead of holding at Hilton Ramses, as was originally scheduled, it will now be held at the headquarters of the Brotherhood’s Executive Bureau, which is located at 20, El-Malek El-Saleh St., Manial el-Roda, at the same time as before: 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2006.
Ezzat said that Egyptian authorities had exercised pressures on the management of the hotel concerned, pushing it to cancel the reservation of the conference room where it was to be held. The conference is due to be attended by a number of experts and specialized persons as well as representatives of the civil society organizations. It is going to discuss how to address the bird flu crisis and its repercussions on Egyptian society.
That attitude on the part of Egyptian authorities, the Brotherhood’s Secretary-General added, confirms their apprehension to reveal the facts leading to the aggravation of the crisis as a result of the government’s failure to address it and contain it.
Dr. Ezzat invited various organs of the mass media to attend that conference at the place and time indicated above.
