The Sunnah of Struggle between Truth and Falsehood

The Sunnah of Struggle between Truth and Falsehood

Praise be to Allah, and salutations and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and those who ally with him. Precious values and dear sacrifices,

{And if Allah did not repel some people by others, the earth would become corrupt, but Allah is full of bounty to the worlds} (2:251)

The anniversary of the January revolution this year coincides with the blessed Deluge battle, where the blessed group chosen by Allah faces Zionist arrogance, criminal ruthlessness, and global arrogance, with the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people whom Allah willed to confront this criminal machine and stand up to it, clinging to their land and sanctities, seeking refuge in their Lord, biting on their right with their molar teeth, patiently enduring the hardships they face, bearing the difficulties encountered.

It is the Sunnah of Allah that has been ongoing since Adam until Allah inherits the earth and those upon it, despite the succession of times and the continuity of life. Indeed, the persistence of this struggle is a guarantee for the rectification of the earth, the uprightness of creation, and the making of the future. Allah says:

{And had Allah not repelled some people by others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the name of Allah is much mentioned, would have been destroyed. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might}, (22:40)

it is the Sunnah of Allah that does not change, alter, or fail:

{Such is the practice of Allah among those who lived before; and you will not find for the practice of Allah any change}. (47:4)

Indeed, it was from the wisdom of Allah that the Sunnah of struggle befalls all creation, especially the best and the exemplary among them; thus, this Sunnah befell the prophets, none of whom were sent except that they were harmed and fought, and their people opposed them. Moses was harmed, Jesus was belied, and Muhammad, the best of creation, was expelled from his homeland. They are the most honorable of creation to Allah, and had Allah willed, He could have given them victory and destroyed their enemy; Allah says:

 {That is so, and if Allah had willed, He could have avenged them, but He tests some of you by others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah – never will He waste their deeds}

and He says:

{And We will surely test you until We know those among you who strive and those who are patient, and We will test your affairs}.

From our illuminating history in the month of Rajab, we live with the Sunnah of struggle, when the Prophet received news of the Roman crowds in Sham preparing to confront the Muslims and thwart the nascent Islamic state; he preempted them by mobilizing the Muslims in the Battle of Tabuk, moving towards them before they could move to the northern Arab borders. This blessed movement had a profound effect in repelling the plots and countering falsehood.

Then there was the Battle of Mu’tah, where three thousand companions faced the vast Roman forces. Despite Khalid bin Walid’s return with the army after the martyrdom of three commanders in battle, the expedition halted the Romans’ attempts to destroy the nascent state.

On 27th Rajab 583 AH (2nd October 1187 AD), Muslims between retreat and victory, between defeat and triumph, managed to recapture Jerusalem from the clutches of the barbaric Western Crusader invasion, led by Saladin. When the Islamic Ummah, including its Arabs, Kurds, Persians, Turks, and all its races, united to repel the Crusader aggression, there was a clear victory and a great conquest after 90 years of oppression and humiliation. The call to prayer was raised again on the Dome of the Rock, and prayers were established anew in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Today, as the Deluge events unfold, falsehood is repelled by the manifest truth, after long years of the siege of the people of Gaza, more assaults on sanctities, amidst Arab and international silence and complicity; the besieged roar and perceive the Sunnah of struggle between truth and falsehood, sending a message to those who transgressed, tyrannized, colluded, and remained silent; that the oppressed have a cry that everyone must hear, and the aggrieved have a stance to impose their cause on the entire world; to realize the extent of the injustices they wallowed in and the crimes they committed.

January… A Tree That Will Not Wither

And now we recall the glorious January 2011 revolution, where truth clashed with falsehood. The truth planted hope in the hearts of Egyptians in their ability for peaceful change, confidence in their collective action, and a wise political experience that resulted in a parliament, a constitution, and a president elected from multiple competitors. The world stood on its feet, astonished, watching for the first time the outcome of the elections. The spirit of the January 2011 revolution still simmers in hearts; it is an idea, and an idea does not die. It is an experience realized on the ground, where every fair person can see its impact and witness its achievements. The day when fear vanished from the eyes of Egyptians, they returned from their diaspora, striving to rebuild, searching for the dignity they lost over decades, participating in the 2012 elections in which the martyred President Dr. Mohammed Morsi (may Allah have mercy on him) won in an unprecedented real election in modern Egyptian history.

On the thirteenth anniversary of the January revolution, the Muslim Brotherhood group is preparing to announce its political action document, which clearly defines the group’s positions on the political scene. It outlines their vision regarding all the changes that the Egyptian arena is undergoing and their interaction with the current reality in Egypt.

The Muslim Brotherhood began reviewing the general vision of the group, which was adopted by the General Shura Council in 2018 and remained in effect until the end of 2023. The team assigned is gathering and studying all the feedback received from the group’s technical and administrative sectors both domestically and abroad. In consultation with a group of external experts and specialists, this process is a preliminary step towards issuing the group’s 2028 vision, Allah willing.
