Thousands Khairat Al-Shater’s Ramadan Greeting Cards Confiscated

” After waiting for more than five days, no message reached anyone”, said Saad Khairat Al Shater after confiscating thousands of greetings cards marking the advent of the holy month of Ramadan he sent on behalf of his father to a huge number of public and partisan figures, politicians businessmen and acquaintances and friends of his father.

Khairat Al Shater is currently detained along with dozens MB leaders pending a military tribunal on charges of funding an outlawed group and money laundry.

Saad Al Shater added:” We toiled for three full nights to prepare the Ramadan greeting cards and went to the post office and showed them a model to know the cost of the required stamps. Then, we prepared the cards and sent them in batches to mailboxes. We didn”t imagine that the security dominance has reached this limit”.

The family of engineer Khairat Al-Shater, the second deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, prepared these cards to congratulate people on the advent of the fasting month of Ramadan. The card entitled ” Ramadan the month of goodness ” reads :

“It is an honor for us to send you our best wishes on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. Many happy returns of Ramadan with the banners of goodness, freedom and justice raised and the evils of tyranny, corruption and oppression removed”.

Happy new Ramadan

Engineer Mohamed Khairat Al Shater and fellow
clerics, businessmen, professionals and preachers detained and
Transferred to the Military Court

“We received confirmations from some of our friends that they didn”t receive our greeting cards”, said Zahraa Al Shater.

Asked about the family”s reaction towards this measure of confiscating the greeting cards, Zahraa Al Shater said:” I hope the general postal authority recalculate such moves as it it tarnishes its image when it surrenders to the illegal orders of the security services”

“We will not file any lawsuit because there is no law in Egypt!” said Zahraa, adding “This clique of tyrants will not prevent us from making our voice and message sent to all people. They prove every day that we are stronger because they got so panicked by a simple greeting card on the advent of Ramadan”.
