Thousands Rally on Day of Anger in Cairo, Alexandria, Sharqyya and Mahalla al-Kubra
The April 6 Youth Movement announced that 5 activists were arrested today for participating in "A Day of Anger" rally attended by several activists in all the governorates of Egypt while remaining demonstrators are currently being prosecuted. "Activists Amr Ezz, Ahmed Eid and Abdullah Saadawi were among those taken to the police station in Imbaba, Giza," April 6 Movement said, adding that Egyptian security forces detained Mustafa Bahgat, Al-Masry Al-Youm photographer, while he was covering the Day of Anger, in addition to the arrest of another activist in El-Mahala al-Kubra.
These provinces and other Egyptian cities witnessed similar rallies, including Alexandria and Banha.
Activists working on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter called for a Day of Anger,in protest against police torture.
