Three men sustain bruises, fractures during IOF attack in Al-Khalil
AL-KHALIL, — Three Palestinians were injured and one of them arrested after a brutal assault by Israeli soldiers in the Al-Tawana region south of Yatta, Al-Khalil.
An Israeli military force detained three men identified as Hijazi Nowajaa, 29, Raafat Mokhamara, 21, and Mohammed Fayez Mokhamara, 21, media sources said. The arm of one of the victims was broken while the foot of another was fractured after the soldiers severely beat them.
The sources said the soldiers arrested Mohammed Mokhamara and transported him to an unknown destination. There are no reports of his medical condition.
The other two victims were admitted into the Yatta hospital for treatment. They reportedly sustained bruises and fractures in several parts of their bodies.
In a separate incident, Sajida Al Awawida, 20, of Dura was taken by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday for questioning.
Awawida is the wife of POW Mahmoud Abu Hashim and a law student at Al-Khalil University.
Sources warned that Awawida gave birth by Caesarean section two weeks back and requires medical follow-up.
She told her brother during a phone call after her arrest that she was being detained for questioning by Israeli intelligence.
IOF sources said soldiers on a tunnel checkpoint south of Jerusalem arrested Monday evening a Palestinian girl from the city of Bethlehem for allegedly attempting to stab a checkpoint official.
The detainee’s name and details were not disclosed. She is being held for interrogation by the Israeli Shin Bet security force.
IOF troops arrested Tuesday morning two Palestinians during incursions into West Bank towns focusing mostly on Ramallah and Qalqiliya.
Israeli radio reported this morning that IOF arrested two wanted persons alleging they were behind resistance attacks against Israeli soldiers.
Locals reported that IOF troops raided Al-Jalzoum refugee camp in Ramallah arresting one Palestinian. Another Palestinian man was detained in the Qalqiiya town of Juyous.
