Time To Defeat Israel

Under this heading, Syrian Marxist figure Mekal Zohour Odai wrote that the Arabs have a golden chance to inflict such a defeat on Israel, making it too paralyzed to stand up on its feet, so that it meets the same pathetic end of the once powerful Crusade emirates which faded away after subsequent military defeats.

The writer adds that now Israel is suffering military and civil losses, but it imposes blackout on such losses by embarking on pounding civilian areas and killing civilian people. He sees three factors to achieve a certain victory and inflicting a crushing defeat on Israel. First, now that Israel has got involved with making incursions into Lebanon and it continued its occupation until it has reached the Litany River, the writer hoped that the Arabs do not let “the Israeli wolf leave Lebanon in impunity but slay it with the knife of its foolishness and vanity ”.  He adds that instead of leaving Hizbollah vulnerable in the battle field, the entire nation must proceed with thousands of its youth who yearn for jihad shoulder to shoulder with Hizbollah.

Praising Hizbollah for its courage and sacrifices, the writer sees that it has opened the door wide for a battle with Israel, which makes it incumbent on the nation to join in and put an end to “this Zionist beast which has spoiled every chance to peaceful co existence” The second factor which the writer sees as a golden one is that the US is now trapped in Iraq that it is unable to save itself, urging the Arabs to seize this opportunity and inflict a strategic defeat on Israel. The third factor of this golden opportunity according to the writer is that the Syrian Golan Heights are still under the Israeli occupation which has reneged on its pledges for tens of years and has rejected all agreements for withdrawal from the Golan Heights “then it is the Katyosha rockets which will restore us not only the Golan Heights but also the West Bank in Palestine”

The writer reaffirmed that the Syrian people are ready to raise the banner of jihad hand in hand with any party or movement which spearheads a war with Israel. He calls on the Arabs not to count much on the international community to restore their lost rights or their people in Diasporas, saying that fear and hesitation is unjustified now that the myth of the Israeli invincible army has fallen apart and it has been exposed in the recent war with Hizbollah.
