The aim of the conference was enlightening national public opinion and mobilizing it to participate in the elections. In the face of the misrepresentation and misinterpretation of the statements of the party’s leadership on a number of sites, we wish to clarify the following:

1.    Our confidence in the ability of Tunisians to ensure the success of the first democratic elections in their history, particularly since the election campaign is generally proceeding normally.

2.    Our acceptance of the elections results regardless of the percentage achieved by our party as long as standards of transparency and fairness are met, in which case we would congratulate the Tunisian people and all parties and would deal positively with everyone.

3.    Our intention to remain committed to consensus-building and partnership in managing the affairs of the country alongside the widest political parties, if we were to receive the trust of the people, and our reliance on all the skills and expertise in which our society is rich in all domains.

4.    Our hope that all political parties and media outlets will maintain responsible, objective and mature dealings in order to protect the safety of the political atmosphere in which the campaign and elections are to take place.

On behalf of Ennahdha party
