Uglo calls on Muslims to unite and defend the Aqsa Mosque

Akmaludheen Ihsan Uglo, Organization of the Islamic Conference Secretary General, called on Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha to unite and defend their holy places, especially the Aqsa Mosque.

He also called on Muslims to help their brothers in restoring their usurped rights and provide them with the necessary means for a dignified life.

In a statement he issued on Friday Uglo said that the occasion of Eid al-Adha and its manifestations such as the gathering of millions of Muslims on Mount Arafat in Makkah, is a reminder for Muslims of their duty to be united.

“In unity lie the means of strength and victory and in discord lie the seeds of weakness and humiliation. Muslims today are in need today more than any other time to unite to confront the schemes being hatched against them, to defend their holy places, especially the blessed Aqsa Mosque, and to help their brothers regain their usurped rights and to provide them with the means for a dignified life,” said Uglo in the statement.

Uglo also said that the Muslims feel sad while watching our Muslim world being torn by war and destruction in addition to extremism which has caused the Muslims dearly, while Islam, in fact, has nothing to do with those extremist trends, as it is the religion of peace and mercy.

He called on Muslim countries to work towards development at all levels and to utilize the human and natural resources of those countries to achieve real renaissance that will guarantee a bright future for the Muslims.

He concluded his statement by praying to Allah that future Eids will witness the Islamic ummah after it has restored its past glory and took its distinguished place amongst nations.
