University’s teaching staff rally in protest to Badr’s decisions.

Over 400 of Ein Shams’ University’s staff will gather and rally in front of Hany Helal Minister of Higher Education’s office indicating their distaste to a resolution made by the president of the University Ahmed Zaki Badr.

The demonstrators had protested earlier in front of Badr’s office opposing changes made where he had earlier announced the transfer and relocating of Professors and teaching staff to non-teaching positions where they were allocated administrational jobs. Decisions were made without former discussion with any of the university’s subject masters, supervisors or board committee. The protestors stressed that this decision will not only affect them with regards to their academic status but will undoubtedly affect the future of their families.

In addition to these injustices, the staff continued that many have been waiting for dates to be scheduled for their masters and PhDs to be assessed for periods ranging from 5-9 years.
