To foil Journalists Pro-Gaza Demonstration, Security forces seal off Cairo entrances, detain hundreds in downtown Cairo, governorates including Ikhwanweb reporter
 
The Egyptian security forces sealed off all entrances leading to the capital Cairo and imposed a security cordon on downtown Cairo then the security forces attacked dozens of citizens including women who came to demonstrate against the Zionist aggression on Gaza in front of the Press Syndicate.



The forces also detained hundreds of citizens, including Ikhwanweb correspondent.



40 of those detained were reportedly moved to the State Security Investigations headquarters in Nasr City, about 91 others were sent to Al-Darrasa security building while the security forces are still beseiging hundreds others at the Press Syndicate and the Bar association and try to arrest them.
 
Meanwhile, the security forces detained more than 150 Muslim Brotherhood members in Al Fayyum while they were heading for Cairo to take part in the downtown Cairo pro-Gaza demonstration. They were arrested a Kom Osheem checkpoint . At governorate of Dakahlia, the security forces sealed off entrances of the governorate and denied cars and buses and people exit or entry, preventing more than 2500 residents of Dakahlia Governate from ging to Cairo to participate in the journalists demonstration. The forcces also detained more than 80 others in a bid to foil the journalists demonstration.
 
It is worth noting that Egyptian national powers have called for a demonstration on Wednesday Dec, 31st, 2008 to condemn the ongoing Zionist aggression on Gaza Strip and demand Arab foreign ministers to take decisive attitudes.


 


Egyptian securities forces on Wednesday afternoon arrested hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood members and others affiliated to Egyptian national powers downtown Cairo where a demonstration was to be held to condemn the Zionist assault on Gaza.



Also arrested was Ikhwanweb correspondent.
 
The Egyptian forces harshly used force to disperse demonstrators, arrested hundreds and beat hundreds others. Many citizens have come from all governorates along with activisits across the political spectrum to attend the demonstration in front of the Egyptian Press Syndicate but the Egyptian forces turned the place into a military barracks and dealt toughly with the demonstrators.
 
In the same context, Egyptian security forces arrested also on Wednesday afternoon 18 Muslim Brotherhood members. The detainees- from the governorate of Al Fayum- were on their way to take part in a demonstration that Egyptian national powers for holding today at 3.00PM to voice their protest and rejection to unjust Zionist assault on Palestinian Gaza Strip.
 
Arrested on the thresholds of the governorate of Al Fayum, the detainees were sent to the prison in the overnate. Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood group organizes- along with other Egyptian national powers- dozens of protests to condemn the unfair Zionist aggression on Gaza Strip.
