Uraikat: Hamas a block to peace
Sa’eb Uraikat, the senior negotiator of the PA in Ramallah with the Israeli occupation authority (IOA), said in a document published on Friday in Ha’aretz that Hamas was a block before the peace process.
Uraikat, expressing frustration at the halt to negotiations with the IOA, said that the Ramallah authority would face an embarrassing situation in the event the negotiations did not resume.
He warned that the PA might give up the two-state solution and the Oslo accords and struggle for a one state with dual ethnicity.
Ha’aretz said that the 21-page document was distributed to European diplomats, adding that it detailed understandings reached by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas, whose term as PA chief had expired over a year ago, with former Israeli premier Ehud Olmert and former US president George Bush.
