US Congressman Advocates Use of Military Force Against Assad
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called on the U.S.administration to assume a firmer stance concerning the atrocities in Syria.
Speaking on CBS the congressman highlighted that time has come for the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to realize that all options are now on the table, including the use of military force.
He also called on the regional partners to call on Assad to step down, adding that if things get any worse the Red Cross will be unable to safely enter the county and offer its help.
The U.S. Senator denounced the violations committed by the Syrian regime towards its own people.
Describing it as a massacre, Graham appealed to his country to take action similar to that used against Libya’s Gaddafi.
Graham pointed out that just as the US was taking a stand against Gaddafi for the protection of the Libyan people, NATO must assume the same role and help the defenceless Syrians.
