On Saturday:  Vigil Marks 2nd Anniversary Of Black Referendum Day

Egyptian Movement For Change, Kifaya, called for attending a demonstration in front of the Press Syndicate on Saturday to mark the second anniversary of the so called black referendum day.
 
The movement’s general coordinator Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Meseiri, called for attending the vigil, saying it is ” to mark the second anniversary of the black referendum day and the assault on female journalists” in front of the Press Syndicate on 26 may 2005.
The vigil was scheduled to be held at 6.00 PM in the evening, to be followed by a conference organized by the freedoms committee in the syndicate in which all political powers and civil society organizations will take part .
 
For his part, Kamal Khalil, a coordinator of Kifaya Movement, told Ikhwanweb that:” This call aims at reminding the Egyptian people of the violations committed by the Egyptian security forces against a number of activists, journalists and journalists to the extent to raping some female activists and dragging them in the streets.
 
Khalil called on all Egyptian political powers and citizens to participate in this demonstration to send a strong message to the Egyptian security and regime that the Egyptian people don’t forget the rapists and aggressors and that one day people will retaliate against this repressive regime .
 
It is worth mentioning that, according to confirmations of political activists and journalists, a number of persons assaulted female journalists in front of their syndicate building while they were covering the incidents of the referendum on amending article 76 of the constitution two years ago.
Former attorney general, Maher Abdul Wahed, closed investigations on these incidents, claiming that no violations were committed during the referendum on amending article 76.
