Yemen: Opposition Accuses Ruling Party Of Voting Irregularities

As the presidential and municipal elections in Yemen come to a close, allegations were voiced by the Yemeni Joint Alliance on election irregularities and violations by the Yemeni ruling party.


Mohammed Kahtan, a leader within the Coalition for Reform (Muslim Brotherhood chapter in Yemen) told Ikhwanweb that representatives from the opposition reported a number of voting irregularities by the ruling Popular Congress Party, citing incidents in Emran, Taez, al Dhalea and Zamar governorates where the violations included firing guns and threatening representatives of other parties and preventing some of them from entering the polling stations.”


Kahtan also added that the opposition will release a statement exposing these violations and irregularities by the ruling party.
