Zaghloul denounces the breaking of the government’s promise to increase doctors’ income.

Dr. Abdel Hamid Zaghloul, member of the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentary bloc, has submitted an urgent request for information to the Minister of Health regarding the delay in meeting the promises made by the government to increase the salary of doctors, which would improve the standard of living and career.

Dr. Zaghloul denounced the government’s action where it stopped paying the increase of 30% to Specialists after a short period of passing this resolution. Moreover, the    meagre payments continue to the areas of specialty including Anaesthesia, Radiology, Chest Diseases and Physical Therapies. This results in a shortage in these specializations since most doctors ultimately choose to work in the private sector which has in turn affected the level of health services in government owned hospitals.
